- 10/22/10 I'm gearing up for a wedding shoot that takes place on October 31, 2010...that's right Halloween! I haven't shot a wedding solo in three years so this should be fun. The bride and groom are gorgeous - I'm excited about that! To help prepare for the indoor shoot, I've purchased some wireless tranceivers for off camera flash. Here are some pics that I took of Cookie today wearing her Luans Leathers gear using the off camera flash! I will be using the pics for CowgirlMall.com.
She reminds me of Mr. Ed in the pic above!
This is the ad I made up (for fun) for Luans Leathers and I wish this could be plastered all over at the NFR!
(Cookie may not run there but she could be there in spirit ;-) I LOVE this bridle set and my new lights!
- 10/18/10 Eric Petersen asked me what I thought would be a good plan to keep his stud, Gettin Impulsive in the spotlight now that he's moved on to his breeding career. At the current moment I feel like the industry magazines are a little stale for how much they cost. What I like about Eric and his stud is that they are both respectable in the Western Pleasure industry, young and fresh. I had no idea if this idea would work or not but I ran it past him...the Quarter Horse Congress was coming up, it may have actually been going on but we had two weeks make this work. I suggested getting four color process, hot/cold cups and then contacting the Sweet Shop Restaurant to see if they would serve their products in them. It felt like a long shot but I was willing to give it a try. Sure enough both parties were able to work together and pull this off! Eric is sure giving his stallion a shot in this industry and I have no doubt he'll see a great return! Here are some photos from the 2010 Quarter Horse Congress with the Gettin Impulsive cups.

- 9/20/10 Ever heard of a Testicle Festival? I hadn't either until a client needed a site and promotional materials for one! She brought in ONE TON of bull testicles, cut and fried em' up! Okay, that's not all...there was also a PRCA Rodeo, drinking (lots of it - the boot mugs ran out before 6pm), and live music. Fantastic music. Here are some of my favorite pics. My girlfriend and I (Mallory from ImpulsePhotographyMB.com) covered 12 hours of it and we can't wait for next year! - 9/16/10 Gretchen Hachtel of g-eliteassistant.com and I have been working together this summer on designs and promotional products...we're making our relationship official with a really cute ad for the Congress issue of the Equine Chronicle!
- 9/12/10 I shot some reining video and photos today with Brian and Kim Welman! Always love working with them! Here is a sample from the shoot (It's a Half-Arabian!)
- 9/10/10 Because I live "in" the cities I observe many types of driving. I'm not a perfect driver but every day I am aware of the fact that my life or someone else's could change in a second. This video will engrain it into your mind (not for the light hearted)...View Video August 2010
- 8/22/10 - After a long rush of work, I needed to have some "me" time.
I decided to go to the barn and just enjoy the horses in the pasture and spend some time out there, check in, making sure everyone is okay. You know I can't leave my camera!

- MBD was able to join Mallory of Impulse Photography on a recent photography adventure to V2 Reining Horses in Davenport, IA for a Shawn Flarida Clinic! Here's a photo to show you how excited we were!
- On the way home from the Shawn Flarida Clinic Mallory had a fantastic idea to stop by a Rodeo!
- Is there a better way to celebrate mothers day then a Randy Travis concert? I think not :-)

I would like to wish all of my clients good luck and hope you bring home some big titles! I myself will be taking a stab at the SPB Open Western Pleasure with my AQHA/APHA SPB mare, A Sudden Outlaw. My husband Mark will be showing in Senior Western Pleasure on a Fleet Machine mare that we adore. She looks just like her sire and is quite talented!
